Emma Currie is a Melbourne based painter and illustrator. Her work utilises geometric shapes and colour to reinterpret the female form. Both representational and at the same time abstract in their faceted, flat planes of colour, Emma’s pieces play on the predictability of conventional representation of the female nude in art while subverting the male gaze.
