Prudence is a photographer based in Naarm (Melbourne). With her interest in social and environmental justice, Prudence aims to use art as a tool to fight complacency, producing works which encourage the viewer to help challenge the status quo.
Prudence shoots and experiments with 35mm and 120mm film, aiming to capture dreamy landscapes which explore the beauty of Mother Earth, but also to delve in to the harsh realities of our impact on the natural environment. As a non-Indigenous artist, she attempts to address her part in the neo-liberal and neo-colonial systems that continue to have a detrimental impact on Indigenous communities and the global environment.
To honour the people of the lands on which most of her work is produced, the artist will donate a percentage of proceeds from print sales to various Indigenous organisations to help #paytherent (in addition to the Cream Town contribution)
